Real Madrid Extends Star’s Contract for Six Years

One of Real Madrid’s stars will sign a new contract that will keep him at the club for an additional six years.

This star is Raúl Asensio, whom Real Madrid’s management has decided to reward for his brilliance last season by renewing his contract, which was due to expire in the summer of 2026.

Asensio will receive a significant salary increase and will secure his stay until 2031 with a €1 billion release clause.

Asensio’s contract renewal comes despite a serious off-field crisis threatening his imprisonment: his trial on charges of distributing a sex video of an underage girl.

Real Madrid is closely monitoring the case, and Florentino Pérez has reportedly asked the club’s lawyers to defend Asensio, fully confident in the young player’s innocence.

Asensio was promoted to Real Madrid’s first team last summer and was given a chance to play after Éder Militao suffered a cruciate ligament tear.

Asensio has performed so well that Spain national team coach Luis de la Fuente called him up for training last March.

Real Madrid had decided to renew Asensio’s contract some time ago, viewing him as the future of the defense, and with the arrival of Xabi Alonso as coach, they ratified the decision.
