Sporting Lisbon star Victor Gyökeres has definitively rejected a move to Manchester United.
This is according to Portuguese newspaper Record, which indicated that the Swedish international is not interested in wearing the Red Devils shirt.
Despite the player’s strong relationship with United manager Ruben Amorim, he is reluctant to arrive at Old Trafford during the club’s current difficult period.
Meanwhile, Gyökeres remains close to a move to Arsenal, as the Gunners’ project has convinced the player more than any other club.
Arsenal’s attempt to sign Gyökeres will not be easy due to the major disagreements that have recently arisen between the player and Sporting’s management.
The agreement between Gyökeres and the club, according to the player, was for him to leave for €60 million and €10 million in add-ons.
However, the club’s management denied the existence of this agreement and did not want to sell Gyökeres for less than €100 million, following his impressive season and the interest of Europe’s top clubs in acquiring his services.
Gyökeres scored 54 goals in 52 appearances for Sporting Lisbon in all competitions, in addition to providing 13 assists.
