Victim of European Exit: Barcelona Considers Exiling Araujo

Sport reported that the Barcelona management and players were clearly angry with one of the club’s stars following the recent match against Inter.

The report refers to Ronald Araujo, who was heavily criticized for his performance in the San Siro match and how it contributed to the 4-3 defeat and Champions League exit.

The latest report stated that a large number of Barcelona players were angry with Araujo for his performance, particularly his two blunders in the third and fourth goals.

Alongside the players, there was widespread belief within Barcelona’s management that Araujo, for the second year in a row, had caused the team to lose and exit the Champions League. This has greatly diminished his standing among officials and even players.

Araujo was sent off against Paris Saint-Germain last year, causing Barça to lose a match that was very close to being eliminated in the quarterfinals.

The crisis has escalated and even reached the fans, with a campaign of attacks launched against him on his Instagram account, forcing him to delete offensive comments on a photo of himself from the Inter match.

Due to his loss to his teammates, the management, and, more recently, the fans, Araujo is unlikely to remain at Barcelona for long, and all parties may agree on the necessity of his departure next summer.

It’s worth noting that Araujo renewed his contract with Barcelona last January, but his release clause allows him to leave next summer for a sum ranging from €60 to €80 million.
