Yamal ends Mbappé’s legend… and Raphinha breaks Messi’s record and threatens Ronaldo!

Barcelona’s match against Inter in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final was no ordinary one for the duo Lamine Yamal and Raphinha, as they set two historic records.

Yamal scored Barcelona’s first goal in the 24th minute, while Ferran Torres’ second goal, assisted by Raphinha, in the match that ended in a 3-3 draw at the Olympic Stadium.

Yamal’s goal broke Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé’s record as the youngest player to score in a Champions League semi-final.

Mbappé scored for Monaco in 2017 against Juventus in the semi-final at the age of 18 years and 140 days, while Yamal’s goal against Inter came at the age of 17 years and 291 days.

By assisting Torres’ goal, Raphinha became the player with the most goalscoring involvements in a single Champions League campaign in Barcelona’s history.

Thus, Raphinha broke Lionel Messi’s previous record, reaching 20 goals, scoring 12 and assisting 8, compared to Messi’s 19 goals, scoring 14 and assisting 5.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s record for most goals in a single Champions League campaign (21) is undoubtedly at stake.

Raphinha will play the second leg against Inter at the San Siro with his sights set on breaking the Don’s record and leading the Blaugrana to the final, where they will face the winner of the Paris Saint-Germain-Arsenal match.
