Sky Germany revealed that the agreement governing the England captain’s transfer to the Bavarian giants does not include any performance clause tied to the award, unlike terms often inserted into deals involving elite superstars or top young talents.

Kane completed his move to Bayern in the summer of 2023 for a base fee of €100 million; however, Tottenham did not stipulate any add-on clauses should their former talisman be crowned the world’s best player.

The deal does incorporate other conditional variables tied to domestic silverware and winning the UEFA Champions League, meaning Tottenham’s potential financial gains remain contingent on those specific criteria, with the Ballon d’Or excluded from the framework.

Some clubs insert Ballon d’Or clauses as high-threshold bonuses that can raise a transfer’s total value by millions of euros; Benfica famously included a similar clause in Renato Sanches’ move to Bayern in 2016, which ultimately went untriggered.

Kane’s crowning follows a sensational campaign during which he scored 61 goals for Bayern, leading them to a domestic league and cup double, bringing his overall tally for club and country to 73 goals in 65 matches.

The forward became the first Englishman to claim the Ballon d’Or since Michael Owen in 2001, while returning the award to Bayern Munich for the first time since Karl-Heinz Rummenigge’s triumph in 1981.

Kane had departed Tottenham as the club’s all-time leading goalscorer with 280 goals in 435 appearances, before achieving the collective titles and highest individual recognition of his career in Germany.
