Kai Havertz has left the Germany national team training camp after sustaining a hamstring injury during their 1–1 draw against the Netherlands in their UEFA Nations League opener.
The Arsenal forward will return to his club for further medical evaluation and to begin his rehabilitation program, with initial optimism suggesting the injury is not severe.
Havertz started the match at the Johan Cruyff Arena but complained of discomfort in his left thigh, forcing his withdrawal in the 30th minute to be replaced by Younes Ebnoutalib.
Minutes before his substitution, the 27-year-old was on the receiving end of a heavy challenge from Quinten Timber above his right knee; however, preliminary medical assessments focused on the muscular issue in his left thigh.
Speaking after the match, Germany head coach Jürgen Klopp confirmed that Havertz underwent an MRI scan, stating: “I hope it is nothing serious and that he can return to action for his club quickly.”
The German national team will be without Havertz for Sunday’s fixture against Greece in Augsburg, while Arsenal await full medical results to determine the exact length of his absence.
Havertz made 24 appearances for Arsenal last season, registering seven goals and five assists, before opening his account this season with a goal against Coventry on the opening day of the Premier League campaign.
The German international previously suffered a significant hamstring injury in February 2025 that sidelined him for several months. Arsenal return to action against Leeds United on October 10 before facing Lille in the UEFA Champions League three days later.
