Zamalek wins the African Super Cup at the expense of Al-Ahly on penalties (Video)

Zamalek succeeded in winning the African Super Cup 2024 title after defeating Al-Ahly on penalties (4-3).

Al-Ahly had taken the lead from a controversial penalty kick in the 43rd minute through Wissam Abu Ali.

In the second half, Zamalek had a clear advantage until they managed to equalize through the first touch of substitute Nasser Mansi in the 77th minute.

The two teams resorted to penalty kicks, and Zamalek succeeded in scoring 4 kicks, while Al-Ahly, Mohamed Awad blocked Yahya Attia Allah’s kick, then Wissam Abu Ali’s shot hit the right post.

With Zamalek’s victory, it continues its advantage over Al-Ahly in the African Super Cup, as this is the second time it has achieved the title at the expense of the Red Giant after the 1994 edition with a goal by Ayman Mansour.

In general, this is the fifth time in Zamalek’s history that it has won the title, and Al-Ahly’s tally remains at 8 championships, with it losing 4 other titles.
