Zamalek Resolves the Bezerra and Bentayg Crisis

Zamalek has resolved the crisis surrounding the duo Juan Alvina Bezerra and Mahmoud Bentayg, paying part of their outstanding financial dues.

The duo filed an official complaint with FIFA against Zamalek a few days ago to secure their financial dues amid the economic crisis plaguing the Mit Okba club.

According to Egyptian media reports, Zamalek deposited part of the duo’s dues on Tuesday evening, promising to settle the remaining outstanding dues in the coming period.

In turn, Bezerra and Bentayg withdrew the complaint filed with FIFA against Zamalek, bringing to an end a crisis that was destined to end with the players terminating their contracts and leaving for free.

It is expected that within hours, Zamalek will also settle the dues of several other players, as part of Hussein Labib’s administration’s policy of avoiding the club entering into further lawsuits before FIFA.

Juan Bezerra is Zamalek’s highest-paid player, earning $400,000 annually, a salary close to that of left-back Mahmoud Bentayj.

Bezerra had threatened to leave Zamalek and terminate his contract, especially since the club hadn’t even paid him the rent for the house where he lives in Cairo. However, it appears that this crisis is now a thing of the past.
