Zamalek Finalizes Agreement with New Coach

The Zamalek board announced the acceptance of coach Ahmed Abdel Raouf’s resignation and appointed Tamer Abdel Hamid and Hazem Emam as interim coaches until a new coach is hired.

Abdel Raouf had decided to step down from coaching the White Knights due to the immense pressure he and the players have been facing recently as a result of the club’s difficult financial situation.

Zamalek will not hire a foreign coach to replace Abdel Raouf due to a lack of funds, especially given the club’s current debt of 2.5 billion Egyptian pounds.

According to media reports, the Zamalek administration has already finalized an agreement with Tarek Mostafa to coach the White Knights until the end of the season.

Tarek Mostafa recently terminated his contract with Al-Ahly Benghazi of Libya, and final negotiations are currently underway between him and Zamalek to determine his coaching staff.

The only remaining obstacle to finalizing the agreement with Tarek Mostafa is reportedly his desire for the departure of sporting director John Edward, who also opposes the appointment of a new coach to replace Abdel Raouf. It is worth noting that Tarek Mostafa had successful experiences in the Moroccan league, and in Egypt he proved his competence in the last two seasons by transforming Al Ahly Bank into one of the teams competing for top positions.
