Zamalek Adds Two Portuguese Coaches to Abdel Raouf’s Staff

Zamalek announced in an official statement the addition of two foreign coaches to Ahmed Abdel Raouf’s technical staff for the White Knights’ participation in the 2025 Egyptian Super Cup in the UAE.

Zamalek had previously dismissed coach Yannick Ferreira due to poor results and appointed Abdel Raouf as interim coach while they searched for a permanent foreign manager.

Zamalek’s sporting director, John Edward, decided to add a foreign goalkeeping coach, Portuguese Vitor Pereira, to Abdel Raouf’s staff. Pereira is expected to remain in his position even after the club appoints its new permanent manager.

Pereira has extensive experience in goalkeeping coaching, most recently working with Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia last season under coach Jorge Jesus. Yassine Bounou’s outstanding performances speak for themselves.

The second addition to Zamalek’s technical staff is Costa Ribeiro, a fitness coach with a relatively modest resume. He previously worked with Nuno Almeida at Damac FC in Saudi Arabia and before that with Pharco FC in Egypt. Zamalek will face Pyramids next Thursday, and if they win, they will face the winner of the Al Ahly vs. Ceramica Cleopatra match in the Egyptian Super Cup final.
