Yamal’s father: Dembélé didn’t steal the Ballon d’Or, but my son is the best in the world!

Lamine Yamal’s father, Mounir Nasraoui, believes his son deserved the 2025 Ballon d’Or, noting that he is the undisputed best player in the world.

The 18-year-old won the Raymond Kopa Award for the best young player in the world for the second year in a row, losing the Ballon d’Or to Ousmane Dembélé after finishing second in the final rankings.

Nasraoui commented on Dembélé’s Ballon d’Or win, saying, “Lamine is the greatest. I wouldn’t say what happened was a theft, but it was a moral damage to a human being.”

He added, “Lamine Yamal is the undisputed best player in the world, not just because he’s my son, but because he truly is the best player in the world.”

He concluded, “We have to say that something strange happened here (at the Ballon d’Or ceremony), but next year this title will be ours. Next year the Ballon d’Or will be Spanish.”

Yamal led Barcelona to the domestic treble last season, yet according to France Football, the competition between him and Dembélé in the journalists’ vote for the 2025 Ballon d’Or was never close.
