In his first appearance in preparation for the new season, Lamine Yamal expressed his confidence that Barcelona will win the Champions League and emphasized his aspirations to win the 2026 World Cup with the Spanish national team.
Yamal and all the Barcelona players have now completed their vacation, and they returned to the club headquarters on Sunday to undergo the necessary medical tests in preparation for the start of the new season.
Yamal appeared on Barcelona TV, where he addressed all those anticipating the upcoming season, saying, “I have no doubt that we will bring the Champions League back to Barcelona!”
He added, “I will do everything in my power to win the 2026 World Cup as well.”
Yamal just celebrated his 18th birthday, which will be followed within hours by his signing of a new long-term contract with Barcelona. He will also wear Lionel Messi’s historic number 10 jersey starting next season.
Yamal won the domestic treble with Barcelona last season and is currently aiming for his first European success after being eliminated in the semi-finals by Inter Milan last season.
