Xavi denies his dismissal from Barcelona and retracts his previous statements!

Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez appeared at the press conference for the Rayo Vallecano match, during which he denied the circulating reports about his dismissal from coaching the Catalan club.

Newspapers close to Barcelona continue to confirm that President Joan Laporta made his decision to dismiss Xavi because of his statements in which he considered that the current Barcelona roster was not ready to compete with Real Madrid and the major European clubs.

When Xavi was asked about this news, he replied, “The club always assures me of its confidence in me. I don’t care much about the rumors spreading. The president and Deco send me clear positive messages.”

He also added, “I don’t care about the rumours. I only care about Barcelona’s management and nothing has changed yet. We have a project and we are continuing our work based on the established plan.”

Xavi retracted his previous words about the potential of Barcelona’s roster, saying, “The current roster has exceptional quality and we will try to win all the tournaments next season. Our project remains clear to everyone.”

He concluded, “I have no doubts. I am hungry and very confident. I feel proud to be in my club and I am happy that I will compete at the highest levels next season.”

The newspaper “Sport” revealed on Saturday morning that Laporta is determined to dismiss Xavi, and is waiting for second place to be decided to inform the coach of this decision a few days after he reversed his decision to leave at the end of this season.
