Uruguay’s veteran goalkeeper, Fernando Muslera, was undoubtedly the star of the first half at the Hard Rock Stadium. However, his stubborn resistance was finally broken by the Al-Nassr defender just before the break.

In the 40th minute, following a corner kick, Mohamed Kanno unleashed a powerful header that was brilliantly parried by Muslera. Al-Amri was quickest to react, pouncing on the rebound to smash the ball into the back of the net and open the scoring.

This historic strike marks the 15th goal scored by Saudi Arabia across their appearances in seven different editions of the FIFA World Cup.
