Women erase the failure of men.. Barcelona wins the Champions League

Barcelona Women won the Champions League title after beating Lyon 2-0 at San Mamés in the final.

The Catalan club’s double came from the two best players in women’s football, Aitana Bonmatti, the last Ballon d’Or holder, and Alexa Botias, the most decorated Ballon d’Or in history.

This is the third time historically that Barcelona Women have won the Champions League title, and it is also the second time in a row.

Lyon is considered the strongest club in Europe in women’s football, having won the Champions League 8 times and finishing runner-up 3 times.

Perhaps the Barça women’s victory in the European title will be compensation for the great failure that the men’s team experienced this season at various levels.

Xavi Hernandez’s squad failed to achieve any title, after losing the league, the cup and the Super Cup, and exited the Champions League in the quarter-finals.

As for Barcelona women, they succeeded in achieving the historic treble, by winning the Spanish League title, the Queen’s Cup, and finally the Champions League.
