Many rumors have circulated in the past few hours regarding a huge Saudi offer from NEOM, the newly promoted club to the Roshen League, to sign Al Ahly player Ahmed Sayed Zizo.
Zizo had just moved to Al Ahly after his contract with Zamalek expired, in one of the biggest deals in the history of Egyptian football. After only appearing in three Club World Cup matches for the Red Devils, interest from Gulf clubs has returned to his services.
The latest club interested is NEOM, and the wealthy club is reportedly willing to offer Al Ahly more than $5 million to sign the 29-year-old.
However, a source within Al Ahly confirmed that the door is completely closed to Zizo’s departure from the Red Castle during the remaining period of the summer transfer window, and that the player is currently focused on preparing for the new season, which begins next Saturday with a match against Modern Sport in the Egyptian League.
The source stated that Neom is not the only club interested in Zizo. However, regardless of the offer made by any club in the world, there is no intention of letting go of the former Zamalek star, especially since the summer transfer window in Egypt closes on August 6, leaving no room for a replacement.
At the same time, the player is currently extremely happy at Al Ahly and sees no alternative but to move to another club, given that his salary with the prestigious Egyptian club is huge, reaching nearly 100 million Egyptian pounds ($2 million) annually.
