Will Zamalek participate in the 2025 Club World Cup after winning the Confederation Cup?

Zamalek’s crowning of the 2024 African Confederation Cup title raised many questions about the possibility that this could be the White Knight’s way to participate in the 2025 Club World Cup in America.

Zamalek succeeded in defeating RS Berkane 1-0 in the second leg of the Confederation Cup final, and with it won the competition title for the second time in its history.

32 clubs from different continents of the world are supposed to participate in the 2025 Club World Cup, which is scheduled to be held in the United States of America.

Africa will be represented by 4 clubs, determined on the basis of participation in the last 5 years, and Zamalek was hopeful that achieving confederation would raise its ranking and with it reach the upcoming World Cup.

But Esperance’s qualification to the CAF Champions League final made it qualify for the Club World Cup, along with Al-Ahly of Egypt, Wydad of Morocco, and Mamelodi Sundowns, and dashed Zamalek’s hopes of being in America in the summer of 2025.

It is noteworthy that press reports indicated that the rewards for participating in the Club World Cup will be very huge, but they have not been precisely determined yet.

12 clubs from Europe will participate, led by Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, and there will be other Arab participation alongside Al-Ahly, Wydad and Esperance, represented by Al-Hilal Saudi Arabia.
