Endrick will leave Real Madrid during the winter transfer window, regardless of what happens with coach Xabi Alonso’s future at the Santiago Bernabéu, according to the newspaper AS.
The Brazilian star has an agreement with Lyon to join the French giants on loan until the end of the season, having fallen completely out of favor with Alonso, who barely gives him any playing time in Real Madrid matches.
In recent days, amid the uncertainty surrounding Alonso’s future and the possibility of his dismissal at any moment, it was rumored that Real Madrid might try to keep Endrick, considering him a valuable attacking asset that the new coach could utilize.
However, AS confirmed that the agreement between Endrick and Lyon is in place, and as soon as the winter transfer window opens at the beginning of the new year, he will officially move to the French club, as Real Madrid’s management believes it is the best move for all parties.
Real Madrid’s management wants Andrej to play regularly, something that isn’t guaranteed even if Alonso leaves. Therefore, a move to a club like Lyon, which competes in European competitions and is a top contender in France, would help him develop and secure his place in the Brazilian national team for the 2026 World Cup.
For his part, Endrick tried to wait until the last minute, but he realized that leaving was inevitable. Alonso wouldn’t give him a chance, and he feared changing his mind and then facing the shock of being relegated to the bench and consequently missing out on the next World Cup.
