Juan Alvina Bezerra scored his second goal for Zamalek when he scored the White Castle’s second goal against Dekedaha of Somalia in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup Round of 32.
Bezerra broke into the penalty area from the left flank, then shot the ball with his right foot, leaving Dekedaha’s goalkeeper helpless, resulting in Zamalek’s second goal in the 33rd minute.
After the goal, Bezerra cried profusely during the celebration, raising many questions about why he did so. Some attributed the reason to his late financial dues to Zamalek.

However, the truth is different. Bezerra cried because of the death of his grandmother about a month earlier. He had promised to dedicate his first goal after that to her. It seems the Brazilian star remembered her as soon as he scored against Dekedaha and burst into tears.
This was further confirmed by the fact that upon exiting the pitch after the first half, Bezerra extended a warm greeting to the Zamalek fans and kissed the White Castle logo, indicating that all was well, especially since the club had paid him a portion of his overdue salaries.
Bezerra is Zamalek’s most important player this season, having participated in 12 matches in all competitions so far, scoring two goals and providing three assists.
