According to the newspaper Sport, the armbands were in mourning for the death of Barcelona star Gavi’s grandmother earlier that day.
Gavi did not travel with the team to the Basque Country, as he attended the funeral and then traveled alone to Bilbao.
Gavi has not yet fully recovered from his injury and is participating partially in training in preparation for his return after the international break.
