Ultimately, Marca newspaper revealed that, with the direct intervention of Real Madrid officials, an agreement was reached with FIFA to hold the 2030 World Cup final at the Santiago Bernabéu in the Spanish capital.
FIFA considers the Bernabéu an ideal venue for this major event, especially after the recent renovations that increased capacity, making the stadium capable of hosting the largest events without competition. The popularity of Real Madrid, and the fact that it is their home stadium, also made it a particularly suitable choice.
It should be noted that the Santiago Bernabéu previously hosted the 1982 World Cup final, which saw the Azzurri triumph after a 3-1 victory over the Germans.
