When will Barcelona return to play at Camp Nou?

After a long wait, Barcelona will return to its historic stadium, Camp Nou, starting next season, after two seasons away due to a major renovation project at the Blaugrana’s eternal home.

Barcelona was supposed to return to Camp Nou last March, but the renovations were not completed and were postponed until next season. The stadium was initially expected to be ready in November.

However, according to Mundo Deportivo, the renovations are progressing well, and the return will be even earlier.

If all goes as planned, Barcelona will return to Camp Nou in the fifth round of La Liga, on September 20 or 21.

Barcelona will not play its first two La Liga matches at the Olympic Stadium, but has agreed with the league to play both matches at the stadiums of its opponents, with the second-round matches being played at Camp Nou.

La Liga typically sets a maximum of three consecutive away matches for any team at the start of the season, but Barcelona has obtained permission to make an exception to this rule.

Real Madrid has been granted a similar exception in previous seasons during the renovation of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, and Real Zaragoza also made the same exception last season during the renovation of their La Romareda stadium.
