Hugo Ekitke’s record for the fastest goal in the Premier League this season lasted just over 24 hours.
The Liverpool star had opened the scoring for the Reds against Brighton after only 46 seconds at Anfield.
Just one day later, West Ham’s Matheus Fernandes broke the record, becoming the scorer of the fastest goal in the 2025-26 Premier League season.
Fernandes opened the scoring in West Ham’s match against Aston Villa on Sunday evening, just 29 seconds after kickoff at the London Stadium.
Unfortunately for him, his goal wasn’t enough for West Ham to secure the three points, as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side suffered another defeat, losing 3-2 to Unai Emery’s team.
With this victory, Aston Villa continued their impressive run and raised their tally to 33 points in third place, while West Ham continued to struggle and remained in eighteenth place with 13 points.
