Wessam Abu Ali Declares Disobedience to Leave Al Ahly!

Wessam Abu Ali has reached the end of his rope, and he wanted to send a clear message to Al Ahly that he does not want to continue with the Red Castle next season. He did so by “declaring disobedience” to continue pressuring Mohamed El Khatib’s management and allowing him to leave Mokhtar El Tetsh Stadium.

The Palestinian international missed Al Ahly’s morning training session on Tuesday, in response to the club’s statement a few days ago confirming that the player’s departure had been closed and that his contract would remain in effect until the end of the summer of 2029.

Egyptian media reported that Abu Ali eventually arrived at Al Ahly headquarters and held a meeting with Mohamed Youssef, the sporting director, and Jose Rivero, the technical director. During the meeting, the parties reached a compromise that satisfied all parties.

After previously refusing to do so, the 26-year-old agreed to travel with the team to Tunisia for the preseason training camp, but on the condition that negotiations regarding his departure from Al Ahly continue at the same time, hoping to find a new club before the start of the season.

Al-Ahly officials still hope to somehow convince the player to continue next season. One way to do this would be to offer him a higher salary than his current one, but so far, Abu Ali remains adamant about his departure.

According to a previous Al-Ahly statement, Al-Wasl of the UAE and Columbus Crew of the US attempted to sign Wissam Abu Ali, but the Egyptian club’s management refused, insisting on receiving $9.5 million plus variables to complete the deal.

Qatari club Al-Rayyan appears to be the most likely destination for Wissam Abu Ali if he leaves Al-Ahly, but there is a major disagreement between the two clubs during the negotiations, which has led Al Ahly to refrain from mentioning Al-Rayyan’s name when discussing the offers received for the striker, who has scored 38 goals in his career with the Red Castle.
