Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior has given Florentino Perez’s administration a final deadline to agree to the terms he has set for renewing his contract, otherwise he will begin looking for a new club in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Brazilian star rejected Real Madrid’s initial offer last year, insisting on a salary similar to Kylian Mbappe’s, which is €30 million annually.
According to the website Fichajes, Vinicius has set a deadline of next April, and if his demands are not met or a new agreement is not reached, his time at the Santiago Bernabeu will come to an end.
Real Madrid’s management is still hoping to convince Vinicius to accept an annual salary of just €20 million, as Perez is adamant about maintaining the current wage structure and is unwilling to break it under any circumstances, realizing the potentially disastrous consequences for the dressing room and the club’s finances.
Several major European clubs are awaiting Vinicius’s decision and the outcome of negotiations before attempting to sign the 25-year-old, who has recently been linked with moves to Manchester United and Chelsea, as well as significant interest from the Saudi Professional League.
It’s worth noting that Vinicius’ contract with Real Madrid expires in the summer of 2027, making it clear that Real Madrid’s position is either to renew his contract immediately or allow him to leave next summer, thus receiving a transfer fee rather than losing him for free the following year.
