Egyptian media reports have revealed the stadium that will host the highly anticipated clash between Al Ahly and Zamalek in the African Super Cup, scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia.
While the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has entrusted Saudi Arabia with hosting the Super Cup for the second consecutive year, the specific venue had remained undisclosed until now.
The 2023 Super Cup was held in Abha, but with the announcement that the 2024 edition will be part of the Riyadh Season, it became clear that the Al Ahly and Zamalek match would be played in the Saudi capital.
According to media reports, the match will be held at one of Saudi Arabia’s newest stadiums, Kingdom Arena, which has a capacity of 26,000 spectators and is home to Al Hilal.
Al Ahly and Zamalek previously met in the final of the Egyptian Cup last season, also in Riyadh but at Al-Awwal Park Stadium, where Al Ahly emerged victorious with a 2-0 scoreline.
Now, the two Egyptian giants will face off in the African Super Cup at a different venue, Kingdom Arena. Ticket prices are expected to start from just 40 Saudi Riyals.
It’s worth noting that the match will take place on Friday, September 27, at 7 pm Mecca and Cairo time.
