Saturday’s Leicester City vs. Southampton match witnessed a rare moment: Jamie Vardy becoming the referee!
Referee David Webb collided with Leicester star Jordan Ayew, causing him to fall to the ground.
However, play continued, and few saw the referee suffering from the effects of this tackle. Vardy immediately appeared to save the day.
The Leicester legend intervened, grabbed Webb’s whistle, and blew it, causing play to be halted and the medical team to examine the referee.

Webb’s injury was severe, and he was unable to continue the match, which was halted for about a quarter of an hour until it was resumed under the supervision of fourth official Samuel Parrott.
The match ended with the Foxes winning 2-0, thanks to goals from Vardy and Jordan Ayew.
This victory was of little practical value, as Leicester were relegated to the Championship, along with Southampton and Ipswich Town.
