Three Candidates for Nottingham Forest Coaching After Postecoglou’s Sack

The Guardian revealed that Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has three candidates on his radar to replace Ange Postecoglou at the City Ground.

The Australian coach was sacked 39 days after taking over due to poor results and a 3-0 defeat to Chelsea, his sixth in eight matches as Nottingham manager, replacing Portuguese manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

Marinakis’ current preferred candidate is Fulham manager Marco Silva, but signing him appears extremely difficult due to his £8 million release clause in his contract with the London club, which Nottingham is currently unable to meet due to Financial Fair Play regulations.

The second option, with which Nottingham Forest have been in contact, is renowned Italian coach Roberto Mancini, who has been unemployed since leaving Saudi Arabia last year. However, he has yet to express his approval or rejection of the idea.

Mancini has extensive experience in English football, having led Manchester City to the Premier League title 13 years ago. He also has numerous achievements in Italian football, most notably winning Euro 2020 with the national team.

The final and more realistic option is Sean Dyche, the former Everton and Burnley manager, who has already expressed his willingness to take on the role, and his defensive ideas align with the current roster at the prestigious English club.
