Real Madrid has reached an agreement with a new player to join its ranks during the current summer transfer window.
The club has already completed the signing of Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth and is on track to complete a deal for Álvaro Carreras from Benfica.
According to journalist Nicolò Schira, Real Madrid has agreed personal terms with Stuttgart star Angelo Stieler to join Xabi Alonso’s squad.
The Spanish coach wanted a midfielder with Toni Kroos’s qualities and the ability to control the ball, and he saw Stieler as the ideal choice for this purpose.
Based on Alonso’s opinion, and advice from Toni Kroos himself, Real Madrid began negotiations with Stieler and convinced him to join the Merengue project.
After reaching an agreement with the German international, Real Madrid will now have to agree on a transfer fee with Stuttgart.
German media reported that Stieglier’s release clause, which starts next year, is €40 million, meaning Real Madrid will have to negotiate with Stuttgart to sign the player this summer.
The deal is likely to be worth between €50 and €60 million.
Real Madrid paid €58 million for Huijsen and will pay another €50 million for Carreras.
