Juan Alvina Bezerra was the undisputed star of Zamalek’s 6-0 victory over Dekedaha in the first leg of the 2025-26 CAF Confederation Cup Round of 32.
Luck has been against Bezerra recently with Zamalek. In the last match against Ghazl El Mahalla, he displayed exceptional skill, nearly scoring the winning goal, but the ball hit the crossbar in a bizarre and unbelievable way.
However, it seems that fate was on the Brazilian’s side in the Dekedaha match, and he received the cheers of the fans at Cairo International Stadium for the entire 90 minutes.
Two Goals
Throughout his short career with Zamalek, Bezerra scored only one goal, against Modern Sport in the Egyptian League. However, in the Dekedaha match, he managed to score two goals at once. Although the opponent was much smaller than their Egyptian League opponents, the Brazilian impressed everyone with the way he scored both goals.
The first goal came from Bezerra’s weaker foot, his right, with a superb shot from inside the penalty area. The second goal, however, was nothing short of brilliant, perfect, and skillful, finishing off Dekedaha’s helpless goalkeeper, who was powerless against the brilliance of Zamalek’s star.
Two Assists
The second half witnessed two assists from Bezerra, noting that he has now scored three assists in Egyptian Premier League matches with Zamalek.
The first was his usual brilliant run into the penalty area from the left flank, followed by a low cross with his right foot, which Seif El-Jaziri met with a powerful shot into the Somali club’s net.
The second goal came from a very smart and simple pass from Bezerra to Seif Farouk Jaafar, who came from midfield and was just meters away from goal, scoring the White Knights’ sixth goal.
A Special Salute from the Fans
Bezerra received a very special salute from the Zamalek fans, both upon scoring his goals and during halftime.
After the final whistle, the fans at Cairo International Stadium also began to salute Bezerra in particular.
In any case, Bezerra’s response was the same: he kissed the Zamalek shirt, completely dispelling rumors that he wanted to leave Mit Okba due to unpaid wages.
It is true that Bezerra cried after scoring the first goal, but it was to remember his deceased grandmother. He has consistently affirmed his loyalty to Zamalek, and his father has also emphasized that he has no intention of leaving anytime soon.
