Relevo confirmed that Real Madrid has closed its second deal of the current summer transfer window.
The club signed Den Huijsen from Bournemouth for €58 million to bolster the center-back position.
According to the report, the club has begun negotiations with Benfica to sign Álvaro Carreras.
Carreras, a product of the Real Madrid academy, is primarily adept at playing at left-back and can also be used in center-back.
Real Madrid officials have negotiated with the player and agreed on all the details. All that remains is an agreement with Benfica.
Negotiations have already begun and reached advanced stages in the last few hours. Carreras will cost the Merengues €50 million.
Real Madrid has tried to reduce this amount in one way or another, but things haven’t gone as Florentino Pérez’s administration had hoped. However, there is no intention of backing down from signing the 22-year-old.
Carreras will most likely be Real Madrid’s starting left-back next season, with Fran Garcia set to leave after the Club World Cup, with Ferland Mendy set to replace him.
