Al Ahly will be without one of its stars for the upcoming matches against Palmeiras and Porto in the group stage of the 2025 Club World Cup.
According to the Red Devils’ announcement, Taher Mohamed Taher will be unable to participate in either match due to an injury sustained during training.
Taher’s injury is a strain in his anterior muscle and he will need at least a week to return to training and play matches.
If Al Ahly advances to the group stage, the Egyptian international is expected to be ready for the Round of 16 match against one of the teams in Group B.
Taher Mohamed Taher’s absence is the second blow Al Ahly has suffered in the World Cup, after Imam Ashour sustained an injury in the Inter Miami match and underwent surgery, which will keep him out of action for at least two months.
Fortunately for Al-Ahly, they have a number of wingers who can replace Taher, such as Hussein El-Shahat, Achraf Bencharki, Trezeguet, and Ahmed Sayed Zizo.
