By reaching the quarter-finals, there are no obstacles in the draw, as any team can face the other, whether it is from the same country or they played together in the group stage.
The draw also determined each team’s path to the semi-finals.
The results of the draw were “crazy” by all standards, and football fans were undoubtedly the winners, especially since the round of 16 was much less than expected or usual in the Champions League.
Arsenal will face Bayern Munich in a repeat match between them, and Atletico Madrid will meet Borussia Dortmund.
Real Madrid will face Manchester City in a revenge match for last season’s semi-final, while Barcelona will meet Paris Saint-Germain.
The winner from Real Madrid and City will meet the winner from Bayern and Arsenal in the semi-finals, while the winner from Barcelona and PSG will play with the winner from Atletico and Dortmund in the same round.
The first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals is scheduled to be played on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 9 and 10, while the return matches will be held on the 16 and 17 of the same month.
