Zamalek will be punished for its fans’ chants against Al Ahly player Ahmed Sayed Zizo during the White Knights’ match against Ceramica Cleopatra in the opening match of the 2025-26 Egyptian League.
Since it was discovered that Zizo had signed for Al Ahly last March, Zamalek fans have been steadfast in their chants against him. Since the first match of the season, they have renewed their attacks on the player.
According to Egyptian media reports, the Egyptian Football Association has decided to impose a fine of EGP 100,000 on Zamalek for the chants against Zizo.
At the same time, the association will only draw the attention of the Zamalek management to these chants. The penalty, if the incident is repeated, will be extended to banning fans from attending the White Knights’ matches, according to the regulations.
The clubs signed a detailed disciplinary and disciplinary code before the start of the season, and the league is committed to implementing it in full. The Competitions Committee does not intend to impose any exceptional sanctions or add special measures against Zamalek.
It’s worth noting that Zamalek, who defeated Ceramica Cleopatra 2-0, will face newly promoted Arab Contractors next Saturday in the second round of the league at Cairo International Stadium.
