The €90 million deal: Woltemade scores for the first time in the Premier League

Nick Woltemade needed just 29 minutes to make his Premier League debut for Newcastle against Wolverhampton Wanderers at St. James’ Park.

Woltemade is Newcastle’s biggest summer signing, having paid €90 million to Stuttgart for one of the Bundesliga’s most prolific strikers over the past year.

There was much criticism of the deal, with some saying the 21-year-old wasn’t worth the money, but Woltemade quickly responded, as he has done in Germany.

The tall striker headed in Jacob Murphy’s cross to give Newcastle the lead in the 29th minute.

Newcastle also signed Yoann Wissa to replace Alexander Isak, who left for Liverpool, but the former is out with an injury that will keep him out for about a month.
