The date and location for the 2026 World Cup draw have been set

The date and location for the 2026 World Cup draw have been set, and FIFA will officially announce it to the media within weeks, according to ESPN.

For the first time, the World Cup will feature 48 teams instead of 32, and three countries will co-host it: the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The final will be held at MetLife Stadium in Miami, USA.

According to the report, the 2026 World Cup draw will be held on December 5, 2025, and Las Vegas has been chosen to host the highly anticipated event.

While the city will not host any World Cup matches, it will be honored to host the draw at the Spehere Las Vegas, the world’s largest circular structure at 112 meters high, 157 meters wide, and with a seating capacity of 17,500.

The Las Vegas Convention Center also hosted the draw for the 1994 World Cup, which was held in the United States and won by Brazil.

To date, 13 teams have qualified for the 2026 World Cup, including Jordan, the only Arab team. Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, and Morocco have all but secured their places in the North American World Cup, while Iraq, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar have significant opportunities.

The 2026 World Cup is scheduled to kick off on June 11, with the final match taking place on July 19. The participating teams will be divided into 12 groups of four. The top two teams from each group, along with the eight best third-placed teams, will advance to the knockout stage, which will begin with the round of 16.
