Al-Ittihad and Fenerbahçe have reached a legal agreement that will see Youssef En-Nesyri move to the Saudi club in exchange for N’Golo Kanté joining the Turkish club.
A technical error by Al-Ittihad had prevented the completion of En-Nesyri’s transfer within the FIFA deadline, which also hindered Kanté’s move.
The French star expressed his frustration at remaining with Al-Ittihad and skipped training on Tuesday, while both clubs worked to resolve the issue.
According to international media reports, Fenerbahçe decided to terminate En-Nesyri’s contract, making him a free agent and allowing him to join Al-Ittihad after the winter transfer window closes.
Meanwhile, the winter transfer window in Turkey remains open until February 6th, ensuring Kanté’s move to Fenerbahçe can proceed smoothly.
Al-Ittihad officially announced the completion of both deals, bringing to a close what is perhaps one of the most complex transfers in the history of Saudi football.
The signing of En-Nesyri by Al-Ittihad comes as a replacement for Karim Benzema, who moved to Al-Hilal in the final hours of the transfer window.
