In the first step in Manchester United’s rebuilding of the squad, the English club has completed its agreement with one of the Premier League’s most important stars this season.
The discussion here concerns Wolverhampton star Matheus Cunha, with whom United’s management has reached a final agreement on all details, as well as with his club’s management.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Cunha has agreed to join United even before the Europa League final, regardless of whether the Red Devils participate in next season’s Champions League.
Coach Ruben Amorim believes Cunha will bring the expected boost, especially given the disastrous failure of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, and the possibility of one or both of them leaving next summer.
Manchester United will pay Wolverhampton £62.5 million to officially sign Cunha, with the official announcement expected in the coming days.
It is noteworthy that the 25-year-old Brazilian striker has participated in 33 Premier League matches with Wolves this season, during which he scored 15 goals and provided 6 assists.
