German press reports indicate that Erik ten Hag has asked Bayer Leverkusen to try to sign Anthony this summer.
The Brazilian international has regained his form after his loan spell at Real Betis, but his continued stay with the Andalusian club is unlikely due to Manchester United’s high demands.
According to Kicker, Ten Hag has made Anthony a top priority for Bayer Leverkusen’s attack, especially since the German club is likely to lose Patrik Schick and Victor Boniface this summer.
The player welcomes a reunion with Ten Hag, having worked together at Ajax before the Dutch coach brought him to Manchester United in a record deal worth over €80 million.
In principle, United’s management does not intend to allow Anthony to leave for less than €40 million, making a deal somewhat difficult for Leverkusen and almost impossible for Real Betis.
It’s worth noting that Antony has participated in 40 matches in all competitions this season, scoring 10 goals, and came close to leading Betis to its first ever European title had it not been for a last-minute defeat to Chelsea in the Conference League final.
