The newspaper “Sport” reported that Harry Kane’s move to Barcelona next summer has become a real possibility, and that the idea has been on the Bayern Munich star’s mind a lot lately.
“Prince Harry” could leave Bayern Munich next summer for just €65 million, the value of the release clause in his contract with the German club.
According to the latest report, Harry Kane is now interested in moving to Barcelona, while Joan Laporta’s administration dreams of completing the deal, especially since the amount is not exorbitant and the club will not face the same registration problems as in the last two years.
With Barcelona’s imminent return to the Camp Nou, their bank accounts will be significantly boosted, and they will be able to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations, providing the necessary funds to activate the release clause in the English striker’s contract.
However, the Kane deal is not as simple as it seems, just about securing the funds. As part of his release clause, the English player is required to formally notify Bayern Munich of his desire to leave in January. At that point, the release clause is activated, allowing him to leave in the summer.
The 31-year-old’s stance on leaving the Allianz Arena remains unclear. In his last press conference, he indicated that he is very happy at Bayern Munich and hinted at the possibility of renewing his contract and removing the release clause.
Barcelona is looking for a new striker given Robert Lewandowski’s expected departure next summer when his contract expires. Kane, along with Julian Álvarez, is among the top options on Laporta’s shortlist, and the idea of signing and relying on a young striker is also being seriously considered.
