Surprise.. Perez rejected Ancelotti’s only request in January!

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez refused to meet coach Carlo Ancelotti’s only request in the winter transfer window, although it was practically not expensive at all.

According to “Radio Marca”, Ancelotti believed in the need to sign a right-back specifically, not a central defender, in the winter transfer window.

The Italian coach does not believe that Lucas Vazquez or Raul Asensio can fill the void left by Dani Carvajal’s injury, while his priority for Fede Valverde was to have him in midfield.

That is why Ancelotti suggested to Perez to sign Kyle Walker, as he is experienced and can provide an immediate addition, in addition to the fact that he will not cost Real Madrid anything.

The English player was already interested in moving to Real, and it was even said that he offered his services to the royal club when he decided to leave Manchester City.

But in the end, Perez rejected Ancelotti’s request, as he believes that the current squad does not need to add a right-back, and he prefers to wait until next summer and sign Trent Alexander-Arnold for free.

With Ancelotti’s non-confrontational nature, he acquiesced to Perez’s opinion, and decided to stick with the current names and try to adapt until next summer, while Walker joined Milan for free on loan with a purchase option next summer for only 5 million euros.
