Luka Modric’s future continues to raise controversy, as the player’s contract with Real Madrid expires at the end of the current season, that is, two months from now, and so far he has not announced what his next step will be.
Modric receives more than one temptation, the most important of which is the “temptation of money” that comes from Saudi Arabia with large and huge offers, the latest of which was revealed by the newspaper “Marca” last summer.
According to the newspaper, Al-Ahly Jeddah offered Modric an annual salary of 80 million euros last summer, but the player refused and preferred to continue with Real Madrid.
It is expected that the offer will be repeated, according to the newspaper, next summer, which represents a very special kind of temptation for the 39-year-old with a salary that he will not receive even half of in any other club.
The second type of temptation appears through Modric’s parent club, Dinamo Zagreb, which plays on the player’s emotions until he returns to his homeland and retires there.
The president of Dinamo Zagreb rented an entire page in the newspaper Marca, on which he placed the club’s shirt with Modric’s name on it and the phrase “We have not lost hope” in order to beg the player to return.
Another option also on the Croatian’s table is a move to MLS, which is the most realistic at the moment.
As for the last option, it is to stay with Real Madrid, and the player now does not rule out accepting the Royal Club’s offer to continue for another year, even if that would mean sitting on the bench for the majority of the season.
