Lionel Messi may reunite with Cristiano Ronaldo, as Saudi League officials are working to sign the Argentine international when his contract with Inter Miami expires last October.
According to Saudi press reports, meetings have taken place between Messi’s agents and representatives of the Saudi Investment Fund to discuss his transfer to one of the top four teams in the Roshen League.
Saudi League officials want to continue their policy of attracting the best football players in the world, and there are again attempts to sign Messi after the first attempt in 2023 was unsuccessful when Messi chose to move to Inter Miami.
So far, negotiations between Messi and Inter Miami over a renewal have been very difficult, and sources close to the player have confirmed that the chances of him leaving the American club have increased significantly in recent weeks.
As soon as Saudi League officials received this information, they quickly held talks with the player and his family in the hope of reaching an agreement that would lead to his transfer to the Roshen League as soon as possible.
Negotiations have not yet reached a tangible result, but there is optimism that this time the attempt may succeed.
If Messi agrees to play in Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Investment Fund will grant him the freedom to choose his club from among the four clubs it owns: Al-Nassr, Al-Hilal, Al-Ittihad, and Al-Ahli.
In 2023, Messi was close to moving to Al-Hilal in particular, and it was reported that the Blue Wave’s offer reached one billion euros over two years. However, the Argentine’s family preferred to live in the United States at the time.
