English press reports revealed that Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes rejected three Saudi offers over the past summer, preferring to remain with the Red Devils for at least one more season.
According to talkSport, Al-Hilal was the closest club to signing Bruno, specifically before the start of the 2025 Club World Cup. Negotiations between the Saudi club and the player’s agent reached very advanced stages, and there was almost an agreement on all details.
Al-Hilal had already prepared to pay €80 million to close the deal, but Bruno, 31, after consulting his family, backed out at the last minute and informed Al-Nassr’s management that he did not want to continue at Old Trafford.
The surprising thing is that, according to the report, Cristiano Ronaldo tried to convince Bruno Fernandes to move to Al-Nassr this summer. Direct talks took place between the two stars, both on the Portuguese national team and over the phone, but the United star has since rejected the idea.
Al-Ittihad was the last club interested in signing Fernandes in the final days of the summer transfer window. However, this time, the Saudi club faced a crisis due to the limited foreign player list and withdrew from negotiations early.
