Surprise.. Barcelona may lose Araujo despite renewing his contract!

The newspaper “Sport” revealed that Ronald Araujo can leave Barcelona next summer for a small amount in only one case.

The Uruguayan star had renewed his contract with Barça until the summer of 2031, and the new contract included a penalty clause whose value was not disclosed.

According to the latest report, the penalty clause is worth one billion euros, except for a short period only.

The first ten days in July 2025, Araujo can only leave for 70 million euros.

This number is not large and many European clubs, especially in the Premier League, can meet it, and Araujo’s agent has been determined to put it in place to give his client the opportunity to leave if he wants.

This value is limited to the first 10 days in July only, but before or after that, Barcelona will have the advantage in the negotiations due to the application of the one billion euro clause.

So far, Araujo does not plan to leave Barcelona, especially after he returned to the starting lineup and gained the confidence of coach Hansi Flick again.
