Slott sets date for Isak’s return to Liverpool

Liverpool manager Arne Slott has delivered good news to Reds fans regarding Alexander Isak’s return to action.

The Swedish international suffered a broken leg two months ago during Liverpool’s match against Tottenham and required surgery.

According to the Dutch coach, Isak is making good progress in his recovery. He participated in Liverpool’s training session on the pitch and wore running boots for the first time this week, so his return to competitive matches is now very close.

Slott added, explaining Isak’s condition: “It’s good to see him on the pitch and it’s great to see him there. He’s in the final stages of his rehabilitation. He’ll be training with the ball and joining the group. It will take some time before he’s ready to play.”

Unless Isak suffers any setbacks, he should be included in Liverpool’s squad for matches after the international break in March.

Slot indicated that with Isak’s full return to training, he will not immediately participate in matches to avoid a relapse and to prevent putting undue pressure on him. The manager prefers a cautious and gradual approach to reintegrating him into the game.

Slot concluded, “We haven’t seen the best of Isak yet, which is unfortunate for both of us. I think we’ll see the best from him next season.”

It’s worth noting that Isak is the most expensive signing in Premier League history, with Liverpool paying €150 million to acquire his services from Newcastle. This season, he has made 16 appearances for the Reds, scoring three goals and providing one assist.
