Real Madrid announced in an official statement the nature of Jude Bellingham’s injury sustained during Sunday’s match against Rayo Vallecano.
The England international left the game just 10 minutes after kickoff, visibly distressed by an injury that appeared so severe it left him in tears at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Real Madrid stated that Bellingham suffered a hamstring injury, without specifying the duration of his absence.
However, the newspaper AS revealed that Bellingham will be sidelined for at least a month, with the possibility of a slightly longer period depending on the 23-year-old’s response to conservative treatment.
Thus, Bellingham will initially miss the La Liga matches against Valencia, Real Sociedad, Osasuna, and Getafe, as well as both legs of the Champions League Round of 16 playoff against Benfica.
If all goes according to plan, Bellingham is expected to return to action at the beginning of next month, specifically for the match against Celta Vigo scheduled for March 8th.
It’s worth noting that Bellingham has made 27 appearances for Real Madrid in all competitions this season, scoring 6 goals and providing 4 assists.
