Shock: Zizo May Not Participate with Al Ahly in the Club World Cup

Al Ahly finds itself in a real predicament after a letter sent by Zamalek to the Egyptian Football Association regarding Ahmed Sayed Zizo.

The player’s contract with Zamalek expires at the end of the current season, which is announced after next Thursday’s Egypt Cup final between the White Knights and Pyramids FC.

Zizo’s official signing with Al Ahly is then expected to be announced, and then he will be registered on the roster to allow him to travel with the Red Castle to the United States to participate in the 2025 Club World Cup.

However, Zamalek refuses to allow this to happen, considering it illegal. They are relying on the regulations, which state that the end of the season is determined by the end of all competitions, including the League Cup.

The League Cup final is scheduled for June 12, so Al Ahly can only register Zizo starting on the 13th, i.e., three days after the end of the registration period.

If Zamalek’s letter proves to be legal, Zizo will be unable to participate in the Club World Cup.

The Egyptian Football Association has yet to respond to Zamalek’s letter, and this will undoubtedly be a new and massive issue that could escalate to the International Court of Arbitration for Sport (ICAS), following the crisis surrounding the identity of the Egyptian Premier League champion.
