An official Saudi source distanced himself from reports linking Mohamed Salah to a move to a Roshan League club during the upcoming winter transfer window, considering the circulating information to be merely a publicity stunt by the Liverpool star’s agent, unrelated to any real possibility.
Following the outbreak of the dispute between Salah and his coach, Arne Slott, international newspapers have consistently linked Salah to a Roshan League move in January, with Al-Hilal, Al-Qadisiyah, and Al-Ittihad being named as the clubs most interested in the Egyptian star.
According to the Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, citing an official Saudi source, the idea of signing Salah has never been raised by Saudi clubs, and all media reports about moves or negotiations between the two parties are baseless.
The source added that all Saudi clubs currently have no interest in signing Salah and have not even attempted to contact the 33-year-old or his agent, nor are they paying any attention to what is being reported in the international media.
The Saudi denial of attempts to sign Salah comes at a time when the CEO of the Saudi Pro League, Omar Maghrebi, indicated that the doors of the Saudi league would be open to the Reds’ star, but that only clubs are authorized to negotiate with players, implicitly confirming the Asharq Al-Awsat report.
It is worth noting that The Athletic confirmed that Liverpool’s management has no plans to let Salah go this winter, which also suggests an intention to intervene in hopes of resolving the situation between the Egyptian player and Slot in the coming period.
