Saud Abdulhamid Moves to the French League

Saud Abdulhamid will leave Roma after falling out of favor with new coach Jean-Pierre Gasperini, with his next destination being the French League.

According to Al-Riyadh newspaper, Saud has decided to join Lens on a one-year loan deal, with no option to buy next summer.

The Saudi international received interest from several clubs in France and Europe in general, with Toulouse being the most competitive for his services, but he ultimately chose to join Lens.

Since joining Roma last summer from Al-Hilal, Saud Abdulhamid has made only eight appearances, scoring one goal and assisting another, prompting him to look for new options.

Saud Abdulhamid will not be the first Saudi player to play in France. He was preceded by young player Mohannad Al-Saad, who moved to second-division Dunkirk last winter and scored against Paris Saint-Germain in the French Cup.
